What to Do When You Run Out of Fuel
If you can safely reach a shoulder or parking area, move out of the traffic lanes and turn on your hazard lights. Avoid walking along the highway to find fuel, especially after dark or where there is little room beside traffic.

Walking beside highway traffic to reach a station can put you in more danger than the empty tank. If you can safely get out of the travel lanes, pull over and turn on your hazard lights. Call for delivery rather than setting out along the shoulder.
Help us find you by providing your direction of travel and the nearest exit or mile marker. At a business or rural property, describe where the vehicle is parked and which entrance to use. Tell dispatch if you’re blocking traffic or cannot reach a safe stopping place. Call 911 if there is immediate danger.

Diesel Fuel Delivery for Commercial Trucks
Adding fuel may only be the first step. A diesel engine that stopped after running dry may need additional service before it will restart. Tell dispatch what happened so we can discuss fuel delivery and the roadside help available for your truck.
Caveman operates mobile diesel repair trucks as well as heavy wreckers. If refueling doesn’t resolve the problem, you already have a company on the phone that can help with further service or heavy duty towing.
