Load Shift Correction & Cargo Handling

24/7 Cargo Services for Commercial Trucks & Trailers

The truck is running, but the load isn’t going anywhere. Freight has shifted against a trailer wall, the doors won’t open, or the trailer itself cannot finish the trip.

Caveman Towing & Repair provides load-shift correction and cargo transfers throughout Southern Oregon and Northern California. We work with drivers and carrier dispatch to reposition freight or move it into another trailer. After an accident, our crews also recover cargo alongside the damaged truck. Reach lifts and a refrigerated trailer are part of our operation, giving us resources for both the shipment and the vehicle.

Correct the Load or Transfer It?

A load-shift correction puts displaced freight back into position within the trailer. The work depends on how the cargo moved and whether we can reach it without further damaging the shipment or trailer.

A transfer addresses a different problem: the freight is leaving that trailer altogether. A breakdown can strand an intact shipment, while collision damage can make the original trailer unusable. Caveman provides load swaps and transfers so the carrier can arrange another trailer for the delivery.

Built for Drivers, Dispatch & Fleet Operations

A freight emergency can involve several people working from different locations. Caveman Towing & Repair works with commercial carriers and receiving facilities to address cargo problems that interrupt scheduled deliveries. Our 24-hour dispatch operation uses Towbook to manage incoming service requests, giving fleet operations a local contact when unexpected load problems arise.

Your Driver Is There. Your Dispatch Team Isn’t.

When you manage a cargo problem remotely, you depend on the people beside the trailer to figure out what happened. Caveman works with the driver and the carrier’s dispatcher to organize the freight work.

Start with the trailer’s location and a description of the shipment. Cargo weight and packaging help us determine the handling equipment. Dispatch-requested photos can show damage or access issues that are hard to explain over the phone.

For a transfer, establish whether a receiving trailer is available and who is arranging it. Confirm that before service begins to avoid recovering freight with nowhere ready to put it.

Refrigerated Freight Has a Clock Running

A damaged refrigerated trailer puts the shipment under pressure even when the cargo appears intact. Caveman has a refrigerated trailer available for freight transfers involving temperature-sensitive loads.

Discuss the cargo and its temperature requirements with dispatch. Trailer availability and suitability are determined on a case-by-case basis. We can coordinate the cargo transfer with truck or trailer recovery when an accident or breakdown affects both.

Cargo Recovery After a Rollover

Freight can end up outside the trailer or pressed against damaged walls. Before the vehicle is uprighted, part of the shipment may obstruct access or affect how the recovery proceeds.

Caveman combines cargo handling with heavy recovery. Our 50-ton rotator, heavy wreckers, and air cushions support vehicle recovery. Reach lifts assist with freight handling, while skid steers and road brooms support accident cleanup.

Our crews work through cargo removal alongside the damaged equipment. The carrier can arrange the shipment’s next move while we prepare the truck and trailer for transport.

One Contact for the Freight and the Disabled Truck

A mechanical breakdown can leave a loaded trailer waiting while its tractor goes for repairs. Caveman provides mobile diesel repair and heavy-duty towing, plus cargo services, so dispatch can handle the truck and shipment through the same company.

Our locations in Grants Pass, OR; Talent, OR; and Ashland, OR support carriers throughout the surrounding region, including Medford, OR, and Northern California. Assistance is available 24/7.
