Semi-Truck Decking & Undecking Service
Semi-Truck Decking & Undecking for Fleet Moves
Moving several tractors together? Caveman Towing & Repair provides semi-truck decking and undecking throughout Southern Oregon and Northern California.
We help carriers prepare tractors for piggyback transport and help receiving facilities separate units after delivery. We can include disabled tractors in the arrangements, with towing and winching available to bring them into position.
Book service for your outbound move or incoming delivery through our dispatch team, available 24/7.
Get the Receiving End Arranged Before the Driver Arrives
Once a decked delivery reaches the yard, the tractors still have to be separated before they can be moved individually or put into service.
Caveman works with fleet coordinators and the receiving facility contact to arrange undecking. Establishing a work area and access to the units beforehand helps prevent a driver from arriving with no room to unload.
For outbound moves, we assist with decking tractors for transport. The number of units and their configurations determine the work involved, so have those details available when scheduling.
A Tractor Won’t Start. Does the Whole Move Have to Wait?
A non-running tractor complicates positioning, but it doesn’t automatically rule out the move. Caveman operates heavy wreckers and winching equipment for disabled commercial vehicles.
A tractor that rolls and steers requires a different approach than one with locked wheels or damaged running gear. We assess its condition before moving it into the work area. Include any known mechanical problems when booking so the additional work is part of the arrangements from the start.
If the tractor is going for repairs instead, our heavy duty towing service can take it to the designated facility.

Leave Room for the Wrecker
An open parking space may not be enough room for decking or undecking. Our equipment must be able to approach and work around the tractors.
Choose an area accessible to the arriving combination and recovery truck. Overhead obstructions matter, as does the ground beneath the equipment. A site contact should be available to open gates and arrange access to the units.
If the yard is crowded or the entrance is tight, discuss that with dispatch before the appointment. Working through access ahead of time is easier than relocating the operation after the trucks arrive.
Trouble With a Decked Combination En Route?
An accident or shifted combination can affect several tractors at once. Damage to one unit can complicate recovering and separating the others.
Caveman’s commercial recovery equipment includes a 50-ton rotator, supported by four 35-ton wreckers and two 25-ton wreckers. Our recovery personnel are qualified to rig and perform lifting and repositioning work.
We can assess the affected combination and arrange recovery, then tow tractors that cannot continue. Emergency assistance is available around the clock.
