24/7 Heavy Duty Recovery Services

Heavy Recovery for Semis, Trailers, Equipment & Cargo Incidents

An overturned truck leaves the carrier with questions that go well beyond the tow. Can the trailer be recovered with the load aboard? Where will the freight go? Who will clear what’s left on the road?

Caveman Towing & Repair provides 24/7 heavy-duty recovery throughout Southern Oregon and Northern California. Our crews bring recovery equipment, cargo-handling resources, and accident-cleanup equipment from our fleet. You can work through the incident with one company, including transport after recovery.

Recovery for the Situation in Front of You

Caveman assists owner-operators, fleet dispatchers, and contractors dealing with disabled commercial vehicles and machinery.

Our heavy recovery work includes:

Semi-truck and tractor-trailer rollovers.

Jackknifed combinations.

Leaning trailers.

Ditch and embankment recoveries.

Loaded trucks stranded off-road.

Construction and farm equipment stuck in soft ground.

Accidents involving shifted or spilled freight.

A truck’s position is only part of the picture. Trailer damage or freight pressed against a wall can affect how we can move it. Our operators assess those conditions before recovery begins, so we can include cargo work from the start.

The Equipment Is Already Part of Our Operation

Caveman operates a 50-ton rotator, four 35-ton wreckers, and two 25-ton wreckers. Air cushions provide another recovery method for suitable rollover jobs, while our off-road heavy winch truck supports difficult extractions.

That equipment gives us options when a trailer cannot be pulled directly to the road, or when a recovery requires lifting in addition to winching. Our operators choose the approach based on the vehicle and the available working area.

For carriers, the benefit is access to heavy recovery equipment through the same dispatch team arranging the rest of the work.

Loaded Trucks Off the Pavement

A trailer’s wheels can sink into a soft shoulder while the tractor remains on firm ground. Farther down an embankment, access for the recovery trucks becomes a problem of its own.

Our crews examine the ground beneath the disabled truck and where our equipment will work. We account for the trailer’s load when planning the pull, with additional wreckers available for jobs involving several recovery units.

If displaced freight prevents recovery or onward transport, Caveman also provides load corrections and transfers.

Recovery for the Freight, Too

Uprighting the truck doesn’t put the shipment back in order. Freight can scatter outside a trailer or get trapped behind damaged doors. Even an intact load can be left in a trailer that cannot finish the delivery.

Caveman provides cargo recovery, load-shift corrections, swaps, and transfers. Reach lifts support freight handling, and our refrigerated trailer provides an extra resource for temperature-sensitive cargo incidents.

We work with the carrier to arrange the shipment while recovering the damaged equipment. The truck can go for repairs while we prepare the freight for a separate move.

Machinery Stranded Before the Loading Area

Caveman recovers construction and agricultural equipment that cannot reach an accessible pickup point. Our recovery crews are qualified and equipped for heavy winching and lifting. Once we recover the machine, our Landoll, lowboy/RGN, and drop-deck trailers can transport it to a repair facility or another arranged destination.

Contractors can organize recovery and hauling together instead of waiting until the machine is out to find transport.

Clearing the Scene and Moving the Truck

Commercial accidents often leave debris across the pavement after crews recover the vehicle. Caveman’s skid steers and road brooms support accident cleanup, and our crews coordinate their work with responding agencies.

We have established relationships with Oregon State Police, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon DOT, Rural Metro Fire, and Grants Pass Fire Department. Our drivers hold traffic incident management and flagger certification for work around roadway incidents.

Towing is available after recovery, including long-distance transport to a designated fleet facility. After-hours delivery arrangements at participating repair shops also allow us to drop disabled trucks off when offices are closed.
